It makes sense that you slide a bit in gravel, grass and mud, maybe I'm just under-educated about racing games though. Yes there is some sliding, but it's off road racing.
Some people say the handling is sloppy, is the first racing type game I've ever owned for my PC and it didn't seem sloppy to me. I don't really consider this a con because most gamers have moved to Widnows 7 for DX 10 and 11 support. Not the best solution but a good work around. Turn the hardware acceleration all the way off. This issue does not appear to affect Vista and 7. Overall Review: If you have Windows XP and a Creative X-Fi or Sound Blaster audio card you may have some popcorn-ish crackling noise coming from every vehicle's engine. I downloaded the emulator and am using a Logitech Cordless Rumble Pad 2. There is an emulator out there that will let you use other controllers. You don't have to go to a garage or some other special area to change your wheels.Ĭons: Seems to only support the XBOX 360 controller.
I also really like the fact when you are free roaming you can pause the game and change to any vehicle you own on the fly. There may be other types I'm not sure, but the game does advertise 75 different vehicles in the game. So far I have encountered four types of vehicles, a dirt bike, an ATV, a dune buggy and a muscle car. The sound track seems to fit well enough. I like the post-disaster setting and the fact that you can free roam. Pros: What a steal at six bucks! The game is fun. To triumph means travelling the wastelands to challenge the best from the tsunami-wrecked pacific coast through the Nevada wastelands, including the Grand Canyon, up treacherous snow-capped mountains, thick forests, arid deserts, abandoned lakeside resorts and much more.Īdditional Information Date First Available
